MBPR Events

MBPR hosts informational lunches throughout the year, inviting speakers to address issues of importance to the membership. Our meetings are often the most well-attended publishing events in our region. To receive information about upcoming events, sign up for our e-newsletter. We also hold an annual meeting, co-host monthly happy hours with the MN Publishing Tweet Up, moderate a discussion group on LinkedIn, and produce an annually updated directory.

The 2018–19 event topics are below (luncheons unless otherwise noted):
  • September 12: Copyright/trademark refresher, with a focus on new media challenges, with David W. Koehser
  • November 14: Working with Amazon
  • January 16: Publicity via “influencers”
  • March 13: Sensitivity readers/content consultants
  • March 19: MBPR internship fair, 5:30–7:30 p.m.
  • May 9: Beyond print and e-books: Leveraging content
